We visited with Bill and friends at van Gilder Pottery and Frederick Pottery School. It was very educational to see his set-up, listen to his experiences, and tune in to his marketing strategies.

Girl Scout Workshop

We volunteered to help a Girl Scout troop learn to throw pottery which they will donate to Empty Bowls. It was a blast and they had lots of fun, thanks to George and Joan Brown of Creative Clay Studios.

Malcolm Davis Workshop
Sat, Feb 8
Malcolm taught us about feet, handles, and other attachments. He was fun, inspiring and absolutely hilarious. He is famous for his carbon-trap shino glazes.

We again experienced Ramon's Raku Workshop (Mar 8) and then took the Throw Large with Ramon two-day workshop (Mar 5 & 12) at Creative Clay Studios.

Caryl Adkisson's Collective Works
Our pottery was on display at the Richard Byrd Public Library on Commerce St. across from Fast Eddie's Pool Hall.
It's really Gail's mom Caryl's exhibit of Stained Glass, Water Color and Portraits, but we have some of our work included to fill the display case. Come see it!

Creative Clay Opening
Saturday, April 26
Ed and Gail demonstrated throwing on the potter's wheel and helped those that wanted to test one of the many new wheels at Creative Clay. It was an exciting experience for everyone! Ramon demonstrated throwing "large", Alfredo demonstrated ceramic tile decoration and Denise Corcoran had "Story Time" with handbuilding demonstrations for children.

Sydenstricker Methodist Church
Sunday, April 27
The theme for Lent was "God is the potter; we are the clay."
We were invited to do a throwing demonstration in front of the entire congregation. The sermon emphasized the theme, the choir sang wonderfully, and we threw pots during the entire service. The reverend lifted one of our freshly made pots as an offering, and again at the closing. It was quite an honor.

Creative Clay Beginning Wheel Classes

We are teaching Adult Beginning Wheel on Tuesday and Thursday evenings. It's a great opportunity for everyone to learn to throw and enter the wonderful community we have at our fingertips at Creative Clay. Don't miss this chance to start experiencing the world of clay!
