High Fire PotteryWe adore the gifts from a high-fired gas kiln. The jets of flame heat the pot to incredible temperatures. Placement of the piece in the kiln influences the way the glaze interacts with the flame and the atmosphere. The pieces below were fired to Cone 10 in a reduction environment, where the flame is starved for oxygen and finds it wherever it can, pulling it from the clay body and the glaze itself. |
